Lever protectors for brake lever & clutch lever - adjustable length

Safety is an absolute must on the motorcycle. In most racing series, protection for the levers is mandatory to prevent unintentional operation of the brake or clutch in case of contact with other riders. In the TecBike Online Shop you will find a wide range of high quality

  • Lever guards adjustable in length and
  • Clutch lever guards, also adjustable in length

from Gilles Tooling and Highsider.

What do you need lever guards for on your bike?

If you are regularly on theracetrack, you surely know the following situation: Especially during the starting phase, the riders move with only a few distances. In the curves they get even closer to each other. In the scrum, even the smallest movements are enough to cause "enemy contact" with another driver. If you are riding without the appropriate lever guards at this moment, it can end badly.

In the worst case, pressure is exerted on the brake lever and you can be catapulted over your bike. You could injure yourself and your bike could even be a total loss. But this does not have to be the case. A brake lever protector and aclutch lever protector from our TecBike range are a simple, inexpensive and safe way to minimise or even completely eliminate this danger.

Protectors for brake and clutch levers are also useful off the race track: If things are a bit tighter in the garage, these components protect the levers, for example, if you run along the wall. They also prevent you from getting caught on them when passing by.

In the event of an accident, the components protect your clutch and brake levers from damage.

Mounting brake lever guards made easy

Fitting the protectors is comparatively easy. No special tools are required. A well equipped ratchet box with screwdriver is enough. As an example we want to explain the mounting of aHighsider CNC lever guard for clutch and brake lever. Please note that this is only a general description. If you are unsure, have the work done by a professional. There is no warranty for possible damages.

Most of the lever guards in our shop are usually ready for immediate shipment. In some exceptions, the delivery time can take up to five working days. Once the components for your motorcycle have arrived, the conversion can also start immediately.

Step 1: Get everything ready

Before you start with the actual work, it makes sense to have the tools, lever guards, screws and the like within reach. To protect the tank and surrounding areas, you can cover them with a blanket.

Step 2: Prepare the lever guards for the right side

Now remove the lower locking screw on the first lever guard and take off the cap. Highsider uses a proven clamping system for its lever guards, which is now revealed.

The lever guards are suitable for ?- and 1-inch aluminium or steel handlebars with an inner diameter of 12 to 22 mm. You choose the sleeves that fit your motorcycle handlebar.

Secure the screws with threadlocker. This will prevent the lever guards on your motorcycle from twisting while riding. Next, tighten the brake lever protector and the clutch lever protector so that they can be pushed into the handlebar with slight pressure.

Step 3: Mounting

Once you have pushed the guards into the handlebar tube and aligned them to the correct position, tighten the central bolt. Pay attention to the correct tightening torque of 10 Nm.

Then put the cover cap back on. This is very easy: You click it in. Do not forget to apply a little threadlocker to the locking screw.

Finally, check that the throttle grip can be turned freely and that it is not jammed at any point. The assembly on the left side is identical for the clutch lever.

Various sleeves are included in the scope of delivery. So you can even use handlebar end mirrors. Simply use a smaller sleeve. The fancy mirrors from the manufacturer fit on it.

Short delivery times and low-priced shipping

Our TecBike range offers you a wide selection of add-on and spare parts for your motorcycle. In most cases, all products in our shop are ready for immediate shipment. Shipping is also free for orders over 150 euros. We will be happy to support you with your selection and advise you!
