How garages become workshops

Most owners of a motorcycle like to do some work on their bike themselves. During the winter break is the ideal time to carry out maintenance work or various repairs. A well-equipped motorcycle workshop or your own hobby workshopare ideal for this. In order to work well in it, the premises should meet a few minimum requirements.

From tools to garage mats

The bad news right from the start: A complete tool kit is not exactly cheap. However, it is not necessary to have a full set of tools on hand right from the start; after all, a well-equipped motorcycle workshop costs quite as much as the motorcycle itself.

As initial equipment, various tools should be available. Open-ended spanners in various sizes are just as important as ring spanners and Allen keys when it comes to wrenching. The spark plug wrench makes it easy to fit and remove spark plugs. In addition, there is a nut box, screwdrivers for Phillips and slotted head screws, various pliers, side cutters and torque wrenches. This is only a small selection for the initial equipment. If you regularly work on your bike, your tool collection will grow almost by itself. Shelves, workshop cabinets or workshop trolleys are practical aids to order to prevent everything from flying around the workshop.

Work is much easier if you can bring your machine to a comfortable working height with a matching assembly platform. In our TecBike range, you will also find practical assembly stands that ensure a secure footing during work.

A motorcycle rug is a chic helper that should not be missing in any mechanic's workshop. It not only looks good and brings racetrack flairinto the room. It protects you from the cold from the floor, protects it from damage that can occur, for example, by falling parts or tools. When making your choice, it is important to make sure that the garagemat is also non-slip and resistant tooil and water and the like. In our assortment we carry the garage carpet in many great designs. Show your attachment to a certain brand, for example Honda, BMW or Yamaha. With the chic designs and powerful colours, a garage mat like this is actually far too good to just use in the garage.

The garage mat should not be missing in any racing kit

To keep the bike running while training and racing, you need the right tools and pit equipment. A well-stocked toolbox or small workshop trolley should definitely be in the van. They contain everything you need at home for the most necessary service work on your racing bike. Important: Don't forget any special tools!

An oil drip pan and a can for filling with fresh oil are also essential. An infrared thermometer is not only important to check the temperature of the tires and the asphalt, but also if your breakfast egg is the right temperature. A centre stand or a normal assembly stand are important aids for doing maintenance work in the pit lane or cleaning your racing machine every evening.

Which brand is your favourite? With a garage carpet from the TecBike range, you can show which car manufacturer is close to your heart.

Don't forget - the rider's equipment

Your racing bike is perfectly equipped for the next hunt for the best laps on the race track. What's missing now is your rider equipment. An appropriate one-piece suit should be an absolute must on the ring. Suitable underwear, for example in the form of a one-piece "romper suit", makes it much easier to get on and off the modern armour.

Should the many beautiful racing bikes bring Peter to tears of joy, i.e. it is raining, this is no reason to stay in the box and complain about the weather. With the right rain suit you are well equipped for this weather.

Now it's time to prepare your bike for the wet ride. Take the plugs out of the fairing wedge and trim the suspension set-up in the direction of soft. Also adjust the rebound and compression damping on the shock and fork to suit the weather conditions. Here you should not forget to note the changes and when it is dry again, adjust the actual set-up again.

You've completed your trial by fire, or rather water, on the ring unscathed: now the racer finds a stylish place to dry on the garage mat. And when the sun is shining again and the track is dry, you can collect the big reward for the previous "wetting": All of a sudden, you'll be going much smoother through the course and speeding around even the sharpest corners. But the most important thing: the numbers on the laptimer are shrinking more and more.

Everything for the workshop and the race track

Do you have petrol in your blood? Then you've come to the right place in our shop at TecBike. Here you will find a wide range of products, from motorcycle rugs to high-quality add-on parts for the racetrack. Do you have any questions about our products or are you unsure about your choice?
