Attach rim stickers quickly and easily - Great styles not only for racing

The gluing of fuel pads, a rim edge sticker or a rim well sticker is no witchcraft and can be easily mastered even by completely inexperienced users. Important are a good preparation and sufficient patience and calmness.

Before you stick the rim edge stickers, decorative strips, fuel pads and co. on your bike, you should prepare the surfaces accordingly. For this purpose you should thoroughly clean the areas which you want to stick on. It is important that they are free of dust and grease. Old stickers or decorative strips must of course be removed first. To clean

the rims you can use various cleaning products for motorcycles. Grease and dust can also be easily removed with conventional window cleaner. Dirt caused by chain grease is best removed with chain cleaner. Make sure not to use strong cleaning agents when cleaning the windows later. They could lead to damage of the glued foils and decorations.

Once the work is completed and everything is in place as you imagine it, the glue needs 24 hours to apply. During this resting phase it unfolds its full adhesive power. You should also be very careful when cleaning in the first few weeks afterwards. To ensure the longest possible service life, we recommend avoiding direct cleaning with a high-pressure cleaner.

The procedure is comparable to the application of the rim stickers. Here too, thorough and careful preparation is essential. If there is still an old protective pad on the tank, it must be removed carefully before. A conventional hair dryer or a hot air dryer will make it easier for you to remove it. The warm air will soften the glue and the removal is much easier. For cleaning the paint surface, white spirit or a turpentine substitute are suitable. Sharp cleaners or brake cleaners can attack your paint, so you should refrain from using them.

You can mark the tank and pad with a pencil to keep the correct position. For larger surfaces, water mixed with a few drops of detergent can be applied thinly to the tank and pad. This allows you to move the tank pad or the paint protection film and align it exactly. In the last step you use a suitable plastic slider or similar to wipe out the liquid from the inside to the outside. This will also remove any possible bubbles at the same time. Afterwards, the pad needs several hours of rest for a maximum development of the adhesive strength.
