Motorcycle exhaust - systems, silencers & accessories for your bike
The motorcycle exhaust is one of the most popular and effective tuning components of all. Hardly any other component changes the look, sound and character of a motorcycle as significantly as the exhaust system. Whether sporty, aggressive or discreet - with the right exhaust, your bike becomes a real eye-catcher.
In our store you will find a large selection of motorcycle exhaust systems, slip-ons, silencers and matching accessories - for road and race track, with or without road approval.
Why the motorcycle exhaust is more than just a tailpipe
The exhaust is the last component in the exhaust gas flow and has a decisive influence on:
- Sound character
- Exhaust emissions
- Power delivery
- Weight
- Design of the motorcycle
Standard exhaust systems are usually a compromise between volume specifications, emission values and production costs. If you want to customize your motorcycle, you often opt for a high-quality motorcycle exhaust from manufacturers such as BODIS or LeoVince.
Road approval, ABE & dB values - what you should know
A motorcycle exhaust is subject to strict legal requirements. These are important:
- ABE (general operating license)
- Compliance with the registered dB values
- Exhaust emission standards (Euro 4 or Euro 5, depending)
The dB Killer (also called dB Eater) plays a central role in this. It reduces the volume to the permitted level and is mandatory for many systems.
If you don't find out about the various options, such as ABE and the like, before tuning, you quickly run the risk of attracting the keen eye of law enforcement officers on your next ride. In addition to the amount of emissions emitted by the motorcycle exhaust, the system determines whether the bike hums, roars, roars or screeches in a sporty manner and how loud the whole thing can be heard. These are conditions that do not necessarily inspire design flights of fancy, especially with the standard equipment of the bikes. Manufacturers therefore use elaborate technical solutions such as flap systems or huge pre-silencers. And of course, pricing plays a not insignificant role in large-scale production.
Slip-on solution or a complete system?
If the "bag" is to be replaced, there are basically two options available to you. One is a completely new system. This ranges from the outlets on the cylinder head to the exhaust end piece. The manufacturers also offer exhaust accessories that are tailored to the various motorcycle types. If you want something particularly sporty, you can opt for a motorcycle sports exhaust. Stainless steel exhaust systems give your bike a modern and timeless touch.
So-called slip-on solutions are the second option. Here, only the rear silencer is replaced. Advantages:
- Simple installation
- Significant improvement in sound and design
- Lower costs
Slip-ons are particularly popular as they are often supplied with an ABE and can therefore be used legally on the road.
We offer you a large selection of silencers from well-known manufacturers such as BODIS or LeoVince. To fit these tuning parts, the existing silencer must first be removed. In the next step, you simply slide the new add-on part over the now open pipe. Hence the term slip on. When carrying out this work, it is a good idea to replace the existing seals at the same time. If they are not included in the scope of delivery, you can find the right product in our store.
In terms of sound and appearance, these conversions can easily impress. Our accessory manufacturers keep the volume within the permitted tolerances for the registered dB value of the standard system.
Exhaust accessories - protection, design & function
In addition to the exhaust system itself, there are numerous accessories that complement or protect your motorcycle exhaust:
Exhaust cover
An exhaust cover protects against heat and visually enhances the design.
Exhaust protectors
Exhaust protectors protect your system in the event of crashes or ground contact - particularly important on the race track.
Flap control - Exhaust flap eliminator (ESE module)
The systems determine the sound, influence the look and ensure optimum engine function.
