Crash pads, axle protectors & engine cover protection - the right protection

Have you ever wondered how you can best protect your bike from serious damage? Whether on the home track or at a trackday - the safety of your bike is always a factor.

A trip into the gravel can happen quickly

We all know the risk. A tiny skid over the front wheel, a highsider when accelerating out or simply bad luck on damp asphalt. A crash not only hurts you, but also your bike. Repair costs often skyrocket extremely quickly. This is precisely why preventive protection is so important.

The most vulnerable points on a motorcycle in the event of a fall

Where does the bike hit first?

  • Frame & fairing (scratches and even cracks)
  • Fork & swingarm (distortion due to the hard impact)
  • Engine cover (dragging on the asphalt)

Engine cover protectors - Protecting the heart of the bike from grinding through

Your engine is the heart of your motorcycle. If the machine skids across the tarmac spraying sparks, the original cover will be ground through in a flash. The result? Oil on the track & major engine damage. With suitable engine protection protectors, you can prevent exactly this drama. They wrap around the sensitive sides like solid armor.

Frame crash pads - absorb impact energy & protect the fairing

When the bike flies off, the enormous forces have to go somewhere. Crash pads act as a crumple zone. They absorb the first, hard impact & dissipate the energy in a targeted manner. This means that the frame & fairing parts are often spared. Make sure that they are not too long so that they do not lever the bike out when sliding.

Axle protectors - effectively protect the fork & swingarm

The axles stick out a long way and almost always come into contact with the ground in the event of a crash. High-quality axle protectors keep the fork legs & the expensive swingarm away from the asphalt. A bent fork base is usually a thing of the past.

Bolting points - why the positioning of the pads is crucial

Not every mounting point can withstand a heavy crash. Good protectors use the strongest frame points or engine mounts. Hands off cheap constructions that only sit on weak fairing brackets! In an emergency, these will tear off immediately and cause even more damage. Stable screw connections distribute the forces safely.

Material science - The advantages of abrasion-resistant Delrin (plastic)

Why not pure aluminum? Quite simply. Metal slips extremely badly & can get caught in the kerb. The bike rolls over. High-performance plastics such as Delrin cushion the impact & allow the bike to glide smoothly while wearing evenly. Pure high-tech for your bike.

The best insurance against expensive consequential damage

A set of protectors costs only a fraction of the price of a new engine cover or fairing. Invest in the protection of your bike in good time.

Quick reminder: Many high-end protectors in our store are pure racing parts without road approval. Perfect for chasing lap times, but check beforehand if you primarily ride on public roads.
