The HEL Performance® TB-2 (MK-II) thumb brake pump is a CNC-machined product made from a solid block of material for handlebar mounting; it is available in two hard-coat housing colors and offers a wide range of adjustment options.

Technical Specifications and Features

The TB-2 is the successor to the TB-1 and offers improved customization to meet the rider’s individual needs. It mounts directly to the handlebar (22 mm diameter), allowing for flexible positioning, unlike the previous model, which mounted to the fork.

Material: The housing and lever are CNC-machined from 6082-T6 aluminum. The piston and screws are made of stainless steel.
Piston diameter: Available in 13 mm.
Housing finish: Available in hard-coat black or hard-coat gray.
Lever finish: Always black anodized.
Adjustability: The lever spacing can be easily adjusted using a dial, similar to a radial brake pump.
Weight: Approx. 265 grams.
Manufacturing: The housing and lever are manufactured by HEL Performance in Exeter (UK).

Compatibility Note

According to Hehl-Racing, HEL Performance brake master cylinders and calipers are not compatible with Castrol’s SRF Racing brake fluid, as this can cause seal failure. It is recommended to use a different, compatible brake fluid.

HEL Performance CNC Combination Brake Master Cylinder for the rear wheel, which allows you to use both the standard foot brake and an additional hand-operated brake master cylinder (e.g., thumb brake or pull brake) at the same time. This is particularly relevant for racing regulations that require the foot brake to remain in place.Key Features and Function:Dual-Use: The pump allows the rear brake to be operated via two separate inputs in series.Connections:Input A (M12x1.00 thread) for the pump on the handlebars.Output B (M10x1.00 thread) to the rear brake caliper.Operation: As long as the foot brake (combination brake pump) is not engaged, it transmits the pressure from the handlebar pump directly to the brake caliper.
