Brake pumps from Brembo & Magura

For maximum braking performance, you need a brake pump you can rely on. If things get dicey on the road, the braking system often decides the outcome. A powerful braking system can save lives on the road. In racing, it can make the difference between victory and defeat. With the right brake pump and optimally adjusted levers, you not only improve the braking effect, but also ride comfort and feedback during deceleration.

At TecBike, you will find high-quality radial and axial brake pumps for your motorcycle.

✔ Radial brake pumps - for precise response behavior
✔ Axial brake pumps - proven technology at a fair price
✔ Compatible with single-disc and double-disc systems
✔ Order repair kits and accessories directly
✔ Ideal for road and racing bikes

How does the brake pump work?

If you want to reduce the speed, you reduce the rotation of the wheel and therefore the brake disk. This is done via the brake pads. They generate the highest possible coefficient of friction and decelerate effectively.

A hydraulic system is used to press the brake pads onto the brake discs. It consists of the pump, the brake lines and the brake calliper. When you pull the brake lever, the force is transferred to the brake piston. It transfers the pressure to the brake fluid. The brake fluid cannot compress. It therefore transfers the pressure evenly and without loss to the brake pad piston. The pads press against the brake disk and the vehicle decelerates.

If the braking effect decreases, this is usually due to water or air that has built up in the system. In contrast to brake fluid, both can be compressed. The pressure point becomes soft or even disappears completely. This shows the influence that brake pumps together with the brake fluid have on the brake system.

What is the difference between radial and axial brake pumps?

The two designs do not differ in terms of braking effect. With the axial pump, the force is transmitted "across the corner". In practice, this means that the piston is located to the side of the brake lever. If you pull the lever, the piston is pressed sideways, i.e. axially.

A radial brake pump, for example from Brembo or Magura, on the other hand, transmits the force radially in relation to the anchor point of the pump on the handlebars. This means that the pulling force on the lever acts in the same direction as the lever on the piston. The advantages of these systems: Larger pistons can be used. This provides better feedback and modulation.

Conclusion: Changing the brake pump - a noticeable difference with every ride

A new brake pump means more than just safety: it improves your braking feel, increases modulation and often also offers better lever ergonomics. The investment is doubly worthwhile, especially for sporty riding styles or tuning.

Brembo brake pumps - market leader in the field of high-performance brakes

in 1985, Brembo filed the first patent for a radial piston pump. The idea to revolutionize braking systems was born. Brembo originally developed the radial brake pump for racing, and the technology is directly adopted by professional motorcycles. Brembo brake pumps are considered by many to be one of the best options, especially for riders who want precise control. Many Brembo pumps, such as the RCS series, have an adjustable lever ratio (e.g. between 18 mm and 20 mm) to adapt the braking system to individual riding style or track conditions.

Magura radial pumps - proven on road and off-road

Magura's Hardcore Technology (HCT) reduces internal friction and wear, which contributes to a more sensitive response and improves suitability for ABS systems.they are also often lighter, have a CNC-machined, high-quality design and can be individually adjusted using adjustable levers, which is an advantage both in racing and on the road. Many brake pumps from Magura are available with an ABE and have the necessary switches and an expansion tank for road use.
